We have a proper distance to the Philippines for the radio contacts from Korea.  They speak very fluent English as well as their own language, Tagalog.

You can hear many DXers from DU land with quite skillful operating manner.  Alfred doesn't seem to be so keen about DX, but rather be interested in having friendly talking.

When I first met him, I was enjoying my new toy, world map CD-ROM title.  But  the computer and CD-ROM drive were too slow, so it took almost 20 minutes to find his QTH, Zamboanga city, in the western tip of Mindanao Island.  That was also because I thought the Philippines is a small country. 

Anyhow, he was very interested in my new system and we talked about it, traveling all around the Philippines with the help of coumputer and radio.  We had a lot of fun. 

He has been enjoying Ham quite for a long time, which you may guess from his two letter suffix, and working as C.P.A.  His son is also a Ham(KE3YA), living in USA as a doctor.

Thesedays he is very active on the radio, after building up a new beam antenna a couple of months ago and setting up a linear amp.  You can easily hear his friendly voice on about 14.198MHz, around 12:00z.
