name : Yoshi Tsutsumi I had a long first QSO with Yoshi on both CW and SSB.
I heard his CQ several times on 20m SSB however I
didn't think I was a proper distance station to him
though he didn't specify any specific area. I changed
the mode to CW and heard his CQ again on CW and I
called him. I told him the reason why I didn't call him on SSB. He
answered me that he didn't call 'CQ DX' because he
expected any possible station's call. That is the
basic idea of 'CQ' he believes, and he has been doing
that so far. I had the same idea as well that 'CQ DX'
could eliminate the possibility of an unexpected
dramatic QSO. We found that we had lots in common. I'm just 1 year older than him. XYLs teach
English at Junior High School. And we both had just one kid. Kind of those things
made me become intimate with him. He often travelled all around world on his business so we could meet in person in 2
weeks after we had first QSO. We came to know that we had similar idea about
Amteur Radio activities and QSO styles. He introduced his radio friends to When one of my friends in South Africa, ZS2ABC, Pierre wanted to get the final tubes for his old FT-101, I asked Yoshi to get it in Japan. Yoshi bought the tubes although it was not easy for him to get them even in Japan, and sent them to Pierre. Yoshi however didn't want to be payed, so Pierre sent him a local product from Africa and Yoshi was very happy about it. <on the cruising boat at Taejong Park in Pusan> Yoshi now has another family member, a second kid, Sakiko that means 'noble child'. I wish them every happiness. |
