While there are many ham couples, we can't hear many XYLs on the radio. They might be invited to Ham Radio by their husbands, not by themselves. However Ricky and Lorena in Guam, both were very active on the radio. Rather often,we could hear Lorena, the XYL.

Lorena was born in Panama and she was teaching English in Guam. Her voice sounded pure and she always spoke the words clearly one and another just like speaking to the students at the classroom. It was really helpful for non-English speaking people to understand.

They moved to Alaska in 1994 and told me that they would travel around the world and want to come back to Panama for their old age.

Since then,I haven't heard them on the radio. However,as long as they enjoy ham radio,I am sure we will be able to get in touch through the radio someday.
