I talked to Steve when he was in the Kiribati Islands of the Central Pacific. He is originally from Woolongong, which is located south of Sydney, Australia. He now works as a priest, traveling around the Pacific region. He also stayed here in Korea a long time ago, and some friends of his are still staying in Korea.

 I usually talked to him on 15m., and the propagation was quite good between Korea and the Central Pacific. We exchanged e-mails through the Internet, but it took about 3 days to get here from Kiribati due to the difficulty of establishing a connection through the islands. Starting from Kiribati, it goes to the Solomon Is., and finally on to Hawaii where they have a satellite connection.

He moved to Fiji in 1996 and changed his call to 3D2SJ. Radio conditions to Fiji are not too bad, but he is using a multi-band vertical antenna, so we don't have a stable connection.
 

When they finish building their new church, he will put up a beam antenna and we will be able to have a nice chat again.
