George retired many years ago after working as a broadcasting engineer. He is still very heathy enough to fix the antenna himself. He arranges his retirement very well by taking part in social service, doing some gardening, taking care of grandchildren and also enjoying his favorite hobby,Amateur Radio.
I have a regular
schedule with
him on 20m at
Saturday
morning,every
2nd weekend. I
think he is a
sincere person
for the QSO. He
tries to
understand about
Korea and
Korean 
people
so it makes our conversation more
pleasant. Studying for a lifetime is
really good and the radio is a good way
for that,isn't it?
When we visited his house,George
treated us the same as a family
member. I think George has been
happily married to his wife,Mary, and
they are enjoying a beautiful old age. I
hope I will do the same.
I occasionally heard Danian and
Bethany's cute voice on the radio but I
couldn't meet them on the last trip.
He got his radio shack at the garage where his dog,
Desmal guards.
The rotating system of the antenna is very unique. It
doesn't need the electric power. Very simple system but
also works excellent.
1. Turning the handle above the linear,the needle on the azimuth map indicates direction.
2. Gear box and chain on the the back of the wall.
3. The pully on the mast eventually turns the antenna.
