name : Pierre
QTH   : Jeffrey's Bay  near to  Port Elizabeth, South Africa

Most hams want to talk to the rare countries in far away places.  The most difficult place from Far East Asia is Caribbean Sea.  And the most difficult continent from Korea is Africa.  However, we can hear South Africans relatively often to the other countries in Africa, when we have propagation opening.

Pierre is a retired doctor and has been a ham quite for long time.  His ex-wife was also a ham(ZS6AVF) and she was very good at morse code communication.  After she died in 1962, he got married to Louise who was from Namibia in South West Africa.

He is not interested in a short conversation like the qso in the contest or pile up, rather like to enjoy friendly chatting.  He speaks just like he is speaking on the phone.  I was a little bit in confusion for the first time, after getting used to it, that was a good way of friendly chatting on the simplex communication.

Pierre calls my wife ' My Korean Girl Friend ' and seems like he is more interested in having qso with my wife.  I sometimes feel jealous(?) of it, but his husky voice always sounds warm to me.

Once he wanted to get the final tubes for his old FT-101, so I told Yoshi, JE2EHP and Yoshi bought them for Pierre.  Because Yoshi didn't want to be payed, Pierre sent him a local product from Africa and Yoshi was very happy about it.

Pierre want to meet his ' Korean Girl Friend ' before he die.  I don't think it's easy for us.  But he may be able to come to Korea someday because his son is working for the airplane being placed into Hong Kong.
