Singapore Cycling - Ferries
Map showing the ferry links relevant to this website
There are three major ferry terminals to regional destinations in Singapore:
Bumboat services to Pulau Ubin and Johor (Malaysia):
Other interesting ferry links
There are possibilities to travel between the Riau Islands and Malaysia and there are dozens of possibilities to travel between the Riau Islands themselves. Those ferries are essential to plan a wonderful biking holyday in the Singapore region. It goes beyond the scope of this website to give detailed information on those ferries. There is one ferry link however that I do wish to mention, even with a time schedule, picked up by my friend Rick Ross in 2003.
Other websites with relevant information about ferries from Singapore:

(Only ferry information is given which is relevant to this website)
From Harbour Front Centre (formerly WTC)
The Harbour Front Centre is located halfway the cable-car line between Faber Hill and Sentosa; the building is to the east of the cable. In the main building, where a shopping centre, carparking lots and offices are located, are also the check-in desks (1st floor) and the immigration (1st floor). But to check in your bicycle, go to the Cruisecentre check-in building, which is between the main building and the cable car line. Let yourself guide to the Regional Ferry Baggage Check-in. You can also do the check-in for yourself. There is no charge for bicycles. Coming back from Indonesia, take your bike from the boat yourself and proceed with your bike through immigration and costums.

Then again at the first traffic light turn right. The ferry terminal is very modern and resembles an airport. After buying your ticket, deliver your bike at the baggage check-in counter. Follow the road all the way to the end of the runway, then turn right at the next traffic light. After buying your ticket, you go with your bike trough immigration and take the bike on board yourself. There is an extra charge for the bicycle. The procedure in Malaysia and on return to Singapore is as simple and does not need further explanation.
Destination:

From Changi Village Harbour
Changi Village Harbour can be easily found after you reached Changi Village, it's at walking distance from all the foodcourts and market you find there. Coming from the airport or from Tampines, riding (driving) over the main road through the village with the enormous trees alongside it, turn right at the Shell gas station. The harbour only caters for small wooden boats. The boats for Pulau Ubin are on the left side.
For destination Pengelih (Pengerang): there is a small immigration building, but don't take action yourself. Let the boatpeople over there know that you want to go to Pengelih, give your passport and wait. The boatdriver will collect a total of 12 passports, being the number of passengers he will take and he handles the immigration check. He will tell you when to go on board of which boat. You'll get your passport back on board. In Pengelih, you go to the immigration office yourself. The reverse voyage is approximately the same; only now the boatdriver will collect the passports again before arrival in Changi and he will hand over the bunch of passports to the immigration officer and you have to stay there until your name is called and your passport is given back. The fare is Sing$ 6 per person and $ 2 for the bike, this is collected during the passage. Important note: The last boat from Pengelih leaves around 3:30 p.m. and it is advised to be in Pengelih not later than 3 p.m.
