Note 6.
Hamel says that on 29 October, when Jan Janse Weltevree (Pak Y n) arrived from Seoul, "the book-keeper, the chief navigation officer, and the under-surgeon" were summoned for questioning by Weltevree (Buys, p. 8). The three were Hendrik Hamel himself, Hendrik Janse, and Mattheus Eibokken, respectively. For Hendrik Janse, see note 1 above; for Hamel and Eibokken, see list in Buys, p. 43.
