Guiding Light's Joie Lenz is nominated with Paul Anthony Stewart for the Favorite Couple Soap Opera Award this year for their portrayal of Michelle and Danny. The Soap Opera Awards will be held this March, but buy a copy of Soap Opera Digest now to vote on the winners! (The ballot is in the November 30 issue). We asked Joie about her nomination.

CBS.com: Congratulations on your nomination! How do you feel?
JOIE LENZ: Thanks! It's great. It's a lot of fun. We were really excited when Paul told us.

CBS.com: What scenes are you the most proud of this year?
JOIE LENZ: Oh, my gosh! I don't think that I could... You know, Paul [Anthony Stewart, Danny] and I really enjoy working together and we have fun in every scene that we do. There are certainly some days that are better than others, but I think overall I'm pretty much okay with everything that we've been doing. We've been given some really good material.

CBS.com: What do you think is the appeal of Danny and Michelle as a couple?
JOIE LENZ: People always ask me this question and I never know what to say because honestly, I don't know. I think we just have a chemistry that seems to really work and people seem to really enjoy. Again, the material's been good and it's just good story. I think the combination of all those things works together to give the audience something they really enjoy watching.

CBS.com: Are you excited about going to the awards show?
JOIE LENZ: Oh, absolutely.

CBS.com: Did you go last year?
JOIE LENZ: I didn't go; I was working. It will be [my first time at the show]. I'm definitely excited. I don't mind the plane ride out there. I look forward to getting that time to myself and relaxing. It should be fun.

CBS.com: Do you know who you'll bring with you to the award show?
JOIE LENZ: I don't. I haven't thought about it yet. I've got a little while.

CBS.com: The awards are voted on by the fans. How do you feel about that?
JOIE LENZ: I think it's great. They're the people that are watching, and they're the ones that are enjoying our work. So I absolutely think they should have a say in who they think should be getting recognition and the awards. It's a really fun thing.

CBS.com: Thanks and good luck!
JOIE LENZ: Thank you!
