Joie: Hey!
Paul: Hey everybody! Hope you're all doing well, it's good to be here, thanks for having us!!

manny_4_ever asks: Paul and Joie, are the writers aware that the Mannyacs are extremely upset at the loss of the baby?
Joie: Well, I think that it's really not in the hands of the writers that we have now, but it was a fun story line while it lasted.

kathyzo asks: What is the best thing about working at Guiding Light?
Paul: I'd have to say the best thing is working with Joie everyday!!!!
Joie: See now I can't go after you anymore.
Joie: Well, of course, working with Paul is the highlight of my day. Yeah, it's great. I bug him in his room and I play with his dog.
Paul: Please don't send me dog toys!!!

stamison asks: Do you think the miscarriage was handled appropriately?
Joie: Yes, I think they handled it very delicately. They didn't have hugely over-dramatic material. I think it was very understated.
Paul: I think it was handled well and that it was a necessary plot point in order to make Danny renounce the family business. The writers wanted something strong enough to lead Danny to make that decision.

mal99492000 asks: Hi Joie and Paul glad you could make it tonight. Joie, do you ever plan on changing your hair color back to blond?
Joie: Probably. I mean, sometime in my life, yes. I do miss having long, blonde hair.

skaaff asks: Paul, are you going to let your hair grow out some?
Paul: Never!

stamison asks: Will Manny have some love scenes soon? We are spoiled fans and are in need of a good love scene.
Joie: The writers are getting pretty racy. We'll see.
Paul: It feels like we've been doing them a lot lately!

lorytory asks: Joie, do you ever have trouble keeping a straight face when things go wrong...like when Paul still had a mouthful of guacamole and was supposed to kiss you?
Joie: I don't remember that! Well, sometimes I have trouble keeping a straight face. I bury my face in his shoulder and he has this big makeup spot on his shirt. Sometimes I just keep talking into the next scene.

simona73 asks: Are you aware of the fan base you've got in ITALY? and PAUL.. can you speak Italian?
Paul: No I'm not aware, CIAO ITALIA! I hope to make it to Italy in the next year or so and hope to learn some Italian before I go!

luvinmanny asks: Paul and Joie, what has been the most emotional scene you have done so far?
Joie: I think the miscarriage stuff. That was really intense.
Paul: I'd say the week surrounding Carmen's death and Michelle's miscarriage, I needed a vacation right after that and fortunately we had one.

lanora18 asks: How has your life changed since you have became an actor/actress?
Joie: It hasn't really changed much. I have a steady income, but in terms of who I am hasn't drastically affected me that much.
Paul: Hmmm. Yeah, I'd have to say that my life hasn't changed all that much either. The important thing for me is to keep my feet on the ground and remain me no matter what's happening in my career.

md1633 asks: Joie, which character was more exciting to portray -- Michelle or the teen Reva clone?
Joie: Thank you. Michelle has been an interesting character. It was a lot of fun for the past two years. Reva was very enjoyable. I enjoy being the antagonist and being the bad girl.
Paul: Joie is a lot nastier than Michelle is!!

angela4gl asks: How come you never make any personal appearances on the west coast? This is discrimination!!! LOL
Paul: Anytime! I love LA and miss LA and miss all of the west coast. Call whoever might care and get us out there.
Joie: I'm going to be in LA on the 31st the 1st and the 2nd.

rome73 asks: Do you miss working with Saundra Santiago? We Mannyacs really miss Carmen!!!
Paul: Yes, I desperately miss Saundra, it's very sad to go to work and not see her.

mktalks_2000 asks: Are you going to the [royal] wedding, what day will it finally happen?
Joie: Yes.
Paul: Yes we are attending (after three of our own).

danelle68 asks: If you could play any movie role, what would it be and why?
Joie: That's a good question. I would play Angelina Jolie's part in Girl, Interrupted.
Paul: There are so many roles I'd love to get my hands on it's hard for me to pick one.

watermelonkel asks: Do you think you have a lot in common with the characters you play?
Paul: I don't have Danny's gold chains, nor do I have his affinity for Tequila (wait, actually we have that in common). There's a lot of me in Danny but at the same time Danny and I are two very different people.
Joie: I think that in playing a character for 2 years, you have to incorporate parts of yourself. It's so much of me, it's like my split personality. In my daily life, I'm not like Michelle. But when I play the part, parts of me are incorporated into Michelle.

kittym44 asks: Paul, just heard the CD I Sent A Letter To My Love. Will you ever sing on GL? You have a great voice!
Paul: I don't know if Danny's a real singer, Danny can dance I can't, I can sing and Danny can't so I don't know. I've been pushing for an entire musical episode of Guiding Light because of the talented singers in the cast.

ragdpragdp asks: Joie, do you plan to make any appearances on Broadway?
Joie: If I could plan my own future, then yes. But my future is not quite in my hands. I would like to very much.

manny_4_ever asks: Paul, do you like working with Jerry ver Dorn?
Paul: I love working with Jerry, he's a very giving actor.

merediths68 asks: Other than each other who do you most enjoy sharing a scene with?
Joie: I love working with Tammy Blanchard. And I really enjoy working with Beth Ehlers.

mamirault asks: Who have been your inspirations throughout your life?
Joie: Of course it is the Lord who is the center of my life. Probably my parents and my friends. There are a lot of great people in my life.
Paul: No one particular person comes to mind but I'd have to say the people who have offered the most inspiration have been people I don't know but have shared their stories with the world in which they've overcome great adversity to succeed in their lives and continue with their lives.

lisa_mannyac asks: What's with the migrating wedding bands? We have an office pool on which of you will wear one and which finger it will be on :)
Joie: Paul's always got his on.
Joie: I think Michelle does the dishes a lot and puts it alongside the sink.
Paul: Joie is prone to being a victim of many ring capers... There have been several times when I've felt Danny's pain and I've asked "Where is that ring?' She's come a long away, originally it was her clothes.

luvinmanny asks: Where is your favorite vacation spot?
Paul: I think my most favorite vacation spot to date is Costa Rica.
Joie: On a sunny day under a big blanket with a good book.

blackrat78 asks: Paul and Joie, do you have limits of what you will and will not act?
Joie: I won't take off my clothes.
Paul: Aside from frontal nudity, no. Otherwise I try not to question what is asked of the character and people are capable of so many things and characters should be the same. My goal is not to rule anything out and that keeps a character surprising.

ragdpragdp asks: Paul, do you wish you were in Rocky instead of Forbes at Princeton?
Paul: Forbes rules! Yo Matt!!! The eagle flies at dawn.

mamirault asks: What do you like to do in your spare time?
Joie: I write a lot. I sing a lot. I've actually taken to listening to books on tape. Like Sherlock Holmes and stuff.
Paul: I like to read, go to the movies, travel, sit in the park.

brandongold335 asks: Do you like to watch your previous performances or not?
Joie: I don't because I don't have a TV. If I happen to catch it in the green room, I'll watch it. Usually not.
Paul: I don't watch either, it makes me too self-conscious. Occasionally if I'm home I might flip the TV on, but very rarely.

gerald_j_wentworth asks: Where did you guys film the scenes last summer? Is there really a San Cristobal?
Joie: No. They're filmed in Puerto Rico.

eyeluv2cheer asks: How do you feel about Claire coming to reclaim her daughter?
Joie: I think Michelle is a little uneasy about it but they're working their way through it.
Paul: I think anything that can bring conflict is fun to play and creates interesting drama. Let's face it, things get pretty boring when it all runs too smoothly on a soap opera!

kleins88 asks: I really like Danny and Abby working together to expose Claire, can you give us a hint if we will get some satisfaction from that soon.
Paul: Yes there will definitely be satisfaction.

blondie_0511 asks: Are you both surprised how popular Danny and Michelle are?
Paul: Considering the short time this couple has existed, it's quite overwhelming.
Joie: Sure. It is but it's nice and I've really enjoyed it. I really appreciate all the letters.
Paul:The support is great, thanks, we're very grateful.

nibil asks: How many hours a week do you work?
Paul: Well, if it's a 5 day week then usually our day is anywhere from 8 to 12 hours. Take the math from there!

kittym44 asks: Paul-we hear you like QVC-have you bought anything yet?
Paul: I'm really holding out for a Marie Osmond doll but I haven't bit yet!

stephaniefitz asks: Being a Mannyac has turned me into a computer nerd. Do you spend much time on the computer?
Paul: No, because I really don't have much time, I use email every few weeks but that's about it.
Joie: No, my computer broke.

mccalisterdcgsd asks: Where is Danny's sister? Is she going to try and take her mother's place in the family?
Paul: Pilar is probably recuperating on some little island... Seriously though I think you are going to see more and more of Pilar in the coming months.

jules81480 asks: Is there a possibility that Danny and Michelle will try and conceive again?
Joie: Sure. There's always a possibility for anything.
Paul: Yep. I think it's not uncommon for a young woman to lose her first pregnancy and Danny and Michelle will probably try again.

ivyash asks: Is it hard living your life like going to the mall and having fans running up to you??
Paul: It's only when they run up and trip me that it's a problem. Just kidding, although I don't get to the mall often I do lurk there on occasion.
Joie: I'm not sure where a mall is in Manhattan. I was just informed that there is a mall on 34th street but I don't go there.

pnay_smile asks: What's your favorite Broadway play?
Paul: Recently I loved 'True West' and I loved 'Chicago' and the play about Mae West 'Dirty Blond' are the three best things I've seen.
Joie: I loved Phantom, not Phantom of the Opera. I loved Rent. Of course, Les Miserables. I recommend reading the book before seeing the show.

kathyzo asks: Will Danny continue to be pulled into the mob?
Paul: I wish I could answer that for you but I can't, sorry.

luvinmanny asks: If you were not acting, what would you be doing?
Joie: Well, I would be a sheep farmer in Australia. Just kidding. I would sing and play my guitar for money in the subway or something.
Paul: I really wanted to be a veterinarian when I was little, wait first I wanted to be the diaper man then disposables came along, then a fireman, then a vet. So who knows?

kathyzo asks: Thanks for taking the time to chat!!! How are you guys liking the new writers?
Joie: I am looking forward to meeting Claire [Labine]. I like the material that has been coming in so far.
Paul: We just taped script number three and the general feeling is that everyone is very excited and optimistic about what lies ahead.

manny_4_ever asks: Can either of you explain the chemistry the two of you have together? It's completely awesome!!
Joie: That's very flattering.
Paul: Well thank you. I just think it's happening very easily and we just click and I can't really define it beyond that.
Paul: We make a lot of runs for coffee together, that helps.
Joie: I think when it happens, it happens. I haven't had an opportunity to work with an actor this closely before. So, I really lucked out.

stephaniefitz asks: Will you be at the St. Jude's Benefit?
Joie: Yes, I will.
Paul: The St Jude's Benefit is pretty far off in the future and I can't really commit, but I will try.

mccalisterdcgsd asks: Joie, I recently experienced the loss of a child and I am around Michelle's age. What did you do as an actress to prepare yourself to play that painful scene?
Joie: I talked to a few people I knew who had miscarriages and asked them of their experience. You just go into that mind set. You have to do that when you haven't gone through that experience yourself.

slsk98 asks: Do you ever get tired of playing such serious scenes all the time? Do you ever want Danny and Michelle to just go dancing?
Joie: I love comedy. I love whenever we have lighthearted stuff.
Paul: We've gone dancing! It would be a nice change of pace to do something lighter but it's been hard to have fun over the last year and a half in this story line.

jules81480 asks: Joie, I know that you are from Texas (so am I) was it hard to get noticed by a talent scout? How did you end up on TV? Were you looking for a scout or someone just noticed you?
Joie: I was auditioning for the Mickey Mouse Club when I was in Dallas. My mother read a book by an agent and called that agent. Then I moved to New York and hooked up with the agent and have been with her ever since, for seven years.

jensen65944 asks: Where are Ray (especially Ray because he's hot!), Pilar, and Grandma Santos?? Locked in the attic, I presume?
Paul: Together!

manny_4_ever asks: Paul, since you are known as the prankster at work, has anyone ever pulled a prank on you? If so, who was it?
Paul: I've pulled a couple pranks, but I'm not really the prankster, I would have to say that Tony Addabbo holds that title. Since I'm usually scowling before a Danny scene I'm not up to much mischief.

dream_sickle_00 asks: Joie how did you like working with Mary Tyler Moore?
Joie: I love it. She's a wonderful and really neat lady, a very intelligent person. It was a real pleasure.

emilywilson1172 asks: If you leave the show, what do you plan to pursue? Movies? Other shows?
Joie: Whatever comes down my path, my music, a film.
Paul: I'm really happy where I am, I love the role, the stories and as long as they're written I'll go wherever that may be.

roxanne_m21 asks: How was it taping Richard and Cassie's Royal Nuptials? I hear it was quite lavish! Love you in Canada!!!
Paul: Thanks Canada. Well, it was a long day, but it wasn't as long for me as it was for a lot of people. Joie had to sit through most of it, although she tried to play hooky a couple times.
Joie: I totally got busted one day. We were both supposed to be on set, mister.

luvinmanny asks: Did you enjoy your first Bauer barbecue?
Paul: We were fighting the entire time and I didn't get even one hot dog! No food for me.
Joie: It was totally actor-proof. It was like cold hamburgers and funky little rice things.

ragdpragdp asks: Paul, do you prefer comedy or drama?
Paul: I prefer good writing!

luvinmanny asks: How do you prepare for your scenes, any rituals or superstitions?
Paul: We're talking dead chickens in Joie's dressing room, rituals, noises... Kidding of course.
Joie: No. I mean, I go out there and mentally prepare.

princess_203 asks: What has been the highlight of your career?
Joie: I don't have one in particular that I look back on. I enjoy everyday. I have a lot of fond memories of projects that I have worked on.
Paul: I'd say so far my high point was my opening night on Broadway, it was something I'd always dreamed about. The sense of accomplishment and reaching that goal was very satisfying.

lorytory asks: Paul, how long did it take you to learn to juggle those oranges?
Paul: I've been able to juggle for some time. I fixated on it after I saw a clown juggle at a circus as a child and I had to be able to do the same.

manny_4_ever asks: Paul, would you like to work with Grant Aleksander more? "Santos vs. Spaulding" That would really be something?
Paul: Sure I think a nice blood match would be pretty good, I enjoy working with Grant and the more powerful the opposition is the better.
Paul: Like Celebrity Death Match.

lisa_mannyac asks: Can Michael O'Leary really barbecue or does he fake it?
Paul: He fakes it very well. But then again who doesn't barbecue?
Joie: Goodnight everybody. Thanks for staying up and listening to our psychobabble.
Paul: Good night, sweet dreams, thanks for being here and rest your weary heads upon your pillows. Seriously though, thanks for coming!
