May 12, 1999 It's the next day Millennium Drew and Jesse are being mushy, and talking all that stuff about how great Drew's world is (not in those words, but you get the gist of it). She remarks how great it is that she has Jesse and Michelle, after that night with the Tequila. cut to Michelle Michelle is in the Bauer kitchen, in a coral colored dress, murdering a grapefruit M: (talking to herself) This should be your heart, Drew, if you had one. (she cuts herself with the knife, dancing around) M: Ouch Ouch, Ouch, Ouch!! (She grabs a towel to hold to the cut as Rick walks in) R: Michelle, what'd you do - hurt yourself? M: Yeah, yeah, No, you know what?, I'm pre-med. I think I can handle a small cut, Ok, Rick? R: Uh, Do I need to call the attitude police? M: My attitude is fine, alright? R: Alright, fine, let me take a look at it. Are you alright? M: yes R: You sure? M: I'm fine, yeah, I'm great, Why wouldn't I be? R: I don't know. How's Danny? How's his injury-" (M cuts him off from saying more, waving the knife around) M: Oh, Danny, Danny's great! See, he's never been better! And you know what?, it's really amazing how he just bounces right back from everything, just right back!! R: Uh, OK, I have some more annoying questions. Where did you get that lipstick? Where do you think you are going? M: Sorry, Rick, I'm sorry, Look, I just, I have to deal with this. Michelle turns to leave the house Immediate cut to Danny sitting on Pilar's bed, his head in his hand. He's dresesd all in black, black pants, socks, and a black see-through type shirt with the sleeves rolled up Pilar walks in the door, carrying a perscription bottle P:Hey D: (grunts) P: Dr. Carlos (?) says you are recovering fine, and he left some medicine for you. D: Pilar, I don't need that, I'm ok. (He sits up straight and starts to button his shirt) P: Well, you don't seem D: Why do you say that? P: Because when I talked to Michelle last night she sounded awful, and when I tired to ask you wouldn't tell me anything, you just D: P: Hey, I know, Why would Michelle go from being so concerned about you to leaving ou alone at the lighthouse? I don't get it. D: Don't worry about it. P: No, I am very Michelle sounded really upset on the phone. Come on, you look a wreck. D: Nothing, it has nothing to do with you. P: I helped Michelle hide you. I lied to mother when she asked me where you were. Danny rolls his eyes and reaches behind Pilar for his shoes (black oxford types) P: Oh, did she find you? D: she found us. P: What? Did she do someting to hurt Michelle? D: No, I did something to Michelle. (he winces while putting on his shoes) Mother was just kind enough to play the messanger. P: What did you do? What did my mother do? D: She dropped a little bomb. That's what happened, about something that happened between me and Drew. about it, but she did. P: You and Drew? (she sighs, rolls her head) Oh, You didn't Danny! You didn't!! D: Now everyone knows, yes, I slept with Michelle's best friend. (Ok, editorial comment- why do people keep saying best friend?? Michelle's best friend is Bill Lewis, and Danny sure didn't sleep with him!!!) cut to the blue light spinning back to (yuck!!) Jesse and Drew talking about how fabulous their lives are (another editorial note -as I recently said in chat, anytime a character does this all the time, it always means there is a big fall coming -yes!!!!) They talk about the DD, Carmen knowing, and how it is in the past for them Jesse and Max go to the hardware store, leaving Drew to tend the club In walks Michelle Dr: Hey! (with a smile) M: (looking like she has murder on her mind) I need to talk to you. Dr: You wanna sit down? Michelle: (never breaking stride) Upstairs! (as she starts up the stairs, Drew trailing after her) Rick and Abby talk about the hearing surgery Cut to Pilar and Danny P: You slept with Drew?? How could you do that? That's Michelle's best friend, her maid of honor. You love Michelle! D: Pilar (he his putting his belt on now) P: You dn't, you don't sleep with someone else when you love someone. D: Pilar, sometimes things, these things, they happen P: No!! You don't just sleep with someone else, Danny that doesn't just happen! This doesn't make any sense. D: Look, there were circumstances, alright, circumstances that you don't know about. Drew and I were drunk. P: (interrupting him) Oh, God!!! I don't want to hear about your drinking and your sleeping around- " D: (interruping her) Listen, Listen to me. P: I don't want to hear that. Danny, I looked up to you! God, I thought you were different Danny. D; It was a mistake, it happens. P: A mistake?? D: yeah P: No, a mistake is when you mark the wrong answer on the test, or when you call someone by the wrong name. That's a mistake, You slept with Drew. What you did Danny, that's a betrayal, a betrayal. D: Alright, who did I betray, exactly? You, or Michelle? I'm sorry that, if I can't live up to this image you had of me as a kid, but I did make a mistake. People make them, and sometimes, Wow! they are actually forgiven, sometimes. P: But not Michelle, right? Because this is what it's all about, so don'ttry to turn it around on me. She doesn't forgive you. That's what happened. That's why she wanted me to pick you up, that's why she's not here. Ah, You did it this time, you really hurt her Danny. D: (nods his head slowly, and says very softly, almost too softly to hear) Yeah Cut right to Drew and Michelle Drew walks into the apartment ahead of Michelle D: What? Michelle walks into the open doorway and says M: Why would you sleep with Danny?? Why would you do that, when you know how I felt about him. Dr: Oh my God, Michelle, Oh my God. M: Alright, at least you don't try to deny it. Dr: Listen, I didn't mean for that to happen Michelle. I can't believe - Look, it was a mistake, it was (M interrupts) M: I confided in you, and I trusted you and you were the only person that I could talk to about this, about how I was feeling and what I was going through. And you just didn't care. Dr: No, That's not true, that's not true. Ok, I felt terrible as soon as it happened. Look, I wanted to tell you the truth M: You wanted to tell me? Oh, oh!! How thoughtful of you!! I'm sorry I missed all the gory details about how afther MONTHS of me refusing to sleep with Danny, you bedded him in one night, ONE NIGHT!! BRAVO!!! (Michelle applauds Drew, right up in Drew's face) BRAVO!! REALLY GOOD!!! I don't even know why I 'm surprised. You tried to ruin my relationship with Jesse for just over a year. Why wouldn't you try to do the same thing with Danny. At least when I was with Jesse, you didn't pretend to be my friend. Dr: I am your friend! Michelle, let me explain M: No, No. What you did, there is no excuse for it, it is unforgiveable. (M turns to walk out the door) Dr: I know, but let me try to make you understand. M: WHAT?!?!? Understand!! Understand what Drew??? That you are a SLUT and you couldn't help yourself!! (You Go Michelle!!!) I already knew that. Or how about that you have some kind of sick attraction to whoever it is I am with, what is that about you? I know, I know what it is, I've got it!! (Michelle is really in her face now) You got so bored with Jesse, you decided to pass the time with my husband! Dr: No, no, no, that's not what happened, It, what happened with Danny and I was - (Michelle cuts her off) M: Payback! That's exactly what it was! So are you happy now, does it feel good to know that I know how it feels to see my husband with someone else in my mind? To picture that? Dr: Don't do that Michelle. Don't do that, man. There is nothing, Y ou know? It didn't mean anything- M: My marriage meant something , our friendship meant something to me. (she turns to walk out again, and Drew trails behind) Dr: Danny loves you, and your friendship means a lot to me M: But it didn't stop you Dr: Look, I know there's no excuse, there's nothing I can say. But just try, try to see where I was at that night, try to see where Danny was at then. Michelle, we felt like our lives were falling apart. It was just sex. M: You know what? I can, I can almost hear you telling Jesse that, explaining it to him that way. But I am not as niave as I used to be about you. In fact, I am embarrassed to say that I even knew you. Jesse walks in the door at this last line, and Michelle turns and sees him J: Michelle? cut to commercial back to Michelle, Jesse and Drew J: Look , Michelle, I know everything that happened with Drew and Danny M: Yeah, that's right, you did know J: if you'll just give her a chance to explain it to you- M: In fact, I was the only one out of the four of us that didn't know. J: Look, I understand why you're so upset right now, I mean, give her a chance M: Yeah, You understand me, really well Jesse, So well that You let me walk around like a jerk for months, that was really nice of you. J: Look, When I found out, you and Danny were supposedly done. And you and I were trying to get back together, you remember that? M: (nods yes) J: Obviously you have feelings for him. I'm getting the feeling that you had feelings for him back then, that was probably our problem. M: what ? J: If you would have told everyone how you felt - No one knew what you were thinking, you would have avoided a lot of problems if you were just honest with everyone. M: You're blamng me 'cause she had sex with my husband?!?!?!? J: You're taking this the wrong way, I'm trying to say we all should have all been more honest with each other and we would have avoided a lot of confusion. M: Oh!! So she slept with him to make us LESS confused?!? Dr: Stop it!! Ok, You're twisting everything that we say M: It doesn't matter what you say, stop! Come on! I can't, I can't, I have to get out of here J: Michelle Drew made a mistake, and she wanted to tell you, she wasn't trying to hurt you but I told her not to tell you, because I didn't think it would do any good to bring it up. I mean, we were all moving on, right? M: Shut up, shut up! Because you're talking and it doens't mean anything. You want to know something? It does make a difference to know. 'Cause now I can get away from all the people who I thought cared about me, so thank you for the freedom guys, really, really great, thank you Dr: Michelle, wait, please, please, I'm sorry. God, I didn't know. Look, I know hate me, but you can't hate meanymore than I hate myself, OK? Don't lose Danny, because he loves you, and I know you want him, I know you want to be with him. I'm sorry, don't let anything get in the way, alright? M: Drew, it's too late, you already did. Michelle turns and leaves, and who really cares about these other two anyway?? Ok, in case you care, they hug cut to Danny and Pilar D: Alright, I hurt Michelle, I mean, you think I'm happy about that, it's the last thing I want. P: well you should have thought about that before you slept with Drew. D: The last thing I want is a lecture from you. I'm sorry that I disappoint you, I'm sorry that I'm not prefect, that's life!! It's not as simple as you think it is. P: It is that simple D: Alright, Pilar Santos, The woman of experience. I bet life is really simple in those 19th century novels you read, (his voice gets wisps, as he makes fun of her) where the women are pure, (voice normal again) and the heros are infallible and love conquers all, with a great big fanfare at the end. (he gets up sticking his tongue out at her) P: Look at you! Nice, nice performanace!! You're so condecending!! D: It doesn't always matter how you feel, and what you believe inwhat you believe in, things happen. P: That's your excuse for everything? D: You don't know everything, and you definitely don't know everyting about this situation. P: Look, Danny, One thing I do know is that what you did was really terrible. D: OK, you wanna judge me, fine, maybe when you're mature, You'll understand 'cause clearly you are not there right now. P: Oh, I see, When I am more mature, I can cheat on my husband too, is that it? Thank you, thank you for being such a great role model, thank you for being someone I can look up to. D: Did I ask to be your role model? I didn't ask to be your role model, don't, I made a mistake, I screwed up, it happens, get over it. Look, you keep trying to make everyone live up to these ridicules standards (ah, Danny, since when is being faithful to your spouse ridicules?) You're going to be nothing but dissapointed. What do you want me to say? Alright, I'm a man. You happy? I'm not perfect. (he puts on the leather jacket) P: How comforting, so all men are pigs, is that what your saying? D: I'm not even going to (sighs), I can't even deal with you, you're not even listening to me. I'm out of here. Danny walks out the door Pilar groans in frustration Michelle comes around the corner, still wiping away tears, and approaches a group of guys M: Hey Steve Steve: Michelle, now there's an unfamiliar face, we missed you at our last couple of parties. M: Yeah, I missed you guys too S: That's what happens when you're a married lady M: yeah, well, I'm not married anymore. You might want to recheck your information. I'm back to my old self again, and I'm ready to have fun. (she takes a drink from Steve's glass) S: hey, guys, we've got Michelle's back among the living single M: I will drink to that ( she leans over the bar) Jack and coke please bartender (it's not Joe, some blonde guy) Yeah, and I want a Ferrari Testarosa M: well, I'm happy for you, but I'm old enough , right? (she turns to the guys) Bartender: can I see some ID? M: I don't any, I left it at home, my... friend, Drew owns the club, it's ok Bar: God, I hate when that happens! Let me tell you what, you show me ID, I'll show you a drink . (he turns and talks in the back) M : that's what you think (as she leans all the way over the bar and grabs a bottle of Jack Daniels and a shot glass, turns around and pours herself a drink) Cheers! The guys: Cheers! fade to commercial more Abby and Rick talking about the possible surgery, and her fears Drew and Jesse again, talking over what happened with Michelle Drew brings up all that Michelle sacraficed for all of them (she finally remembers this?!?!?) back to Michelle, who has been drinking a lot (she drinks a whole lot of shots during this exchange) M: well. there is just one more thing to drink to - something else! Steve: Hey, why don't you come by the Frat house tonight, we're having a blow out M: a blow out, that sounds like exactly what I need, hey, great S: So, come along, bring a girlfriend, or a date M: well, I'm fresh out of girlfriends, they all have a tendency to sleep with my husband (laughs) And a date, since I have been kind of out of the dating scene for awhile, I'm fresh out of those, what do you suggest? S: come alone, even better M; Alone, Now that is another idea that I like. Cheers! (see puts back another one) Meanwhile, Danny has come in, and he is watching her (she is at the end of the bar, his former favorite place to drink) I just have to say that Joie Lenz did an outstanding job today!!
