Carmen comes into the house and is looking pretty pleased with
herself at all the devastation her little hit has brought on until she
looks down at the floor and see's Bill and Pilar lying there not
moving....... ( Bill is covering Pilar with his body)

C: Oh my god.......oh my god (quietly) No Pilar NO!  Oh My God! what
have I done...oh  (crying now)

Opening

C: NO!...No, no! This can't be!
(Bill is starting to move now and gets up but he has blood on his shirt
and Pilar still isn't moving
C: Pilar...Pilar baby!! NO NO!!
Bi : She's been shot
C: NO!
Danny and Michelle come running in
D: What..oh god...what happened
C: Thank god!!
D: Has she been hit? Here, here (listens to her heart and
takes his jacket off to cover her with)
C: It's my fault!! I killed my baby!!
BI: It's just the glass
(this is really hard to do because they are all talking over each other
and I can't hear half of what is being said. Forgive me if I leave some
things out.)
Pilar starts to come to and move a bit
D: Are you okay? (looks at carmen) What happened??
Michelle is watching carmen
C; I don't know, this was never meant to happen!!
D: What are you talking about?? What was never meant to happen??
Ben: Danny, danny, your questions can wait.
D: What do you mean wait?!
Ben: Your mother just survived and assasination attempt and Pilar almost
got killed.
Danny turns and looks for M who gives him something white, not sure what
it is. Carmen looks up at Ben, scared.
end of scene

Carmen is wrapping Pilars arm in a bandage (I assume that was the white
thing M handed to D)
C: Does it hurt baby?
P: No, no..
C: Are you sure?
Bi: Maybe we should take her to an emergency room just to be sure
D: No..no
Bi: If that thing gets infected..
D: Shes fine. she's fine...we know what we're doing.
(M and some other guy are picking things up and putting them back
P: Bill, it's fine..it's just a scratch, just a scratch
Bi: okay, so let a doctor tell you that
D: Hey what happened?
P: It's fine, thanks for saving my life.
D: Bill, what happened?
Bi: we ahh, Pilar and I were going to go to a club and we came back here
to get ummm a dress for her and we were headed for the door and all of a
sudden..
Ben: When somebody tried to assasinate your mother. Danny, I had just
dropped her off after a business dinner when I was driving away and
heard gun fire
D: And that's when you called me?
Ben: yeah from my car on my way back to the house.
P: Danny, it was so loud, I was so scared
D: Its alright, it's okay. (hugging her)
Bi: Whoever it was must have had a machine gun type of thing because it
was just one long burst of fire.
D: (looking at the other guy who was helping) And where the hell were
you??!! HUH??
C: I gave Jimmy the night off.
D: Why??!
C: I was having dinner with my attorney Danny. I didn't see the need.
D: You didn't see the need for protection? Whats the matter with you?
Thats not like you at all!
C: You can be sure that I will never make this mistake again.
Ben: Somebody was obviously staking out the house waiting for Carmen to
return. Well thank god he bungled the job.
D: Bungled the job? What are you talking about man, my sister got hit
she could have been killed.
P: Why would anyone want to kill you Mama? Why?
C: Sweetie I don't know, I don't have any idea.
P: Danny we gotta call the cops, we gotta call the police Please?
D: No, we're not going to call the cops, don't worry about it. I'll
handle this.
P: But what if somebody comes back, what if they come back with more
guns?
D: No, Nobody is going to come back.
Bi: How can you say that?
D: Because it was a warning, I know what this was, it was a warning and
it's not going to happen again, I'm going to make sure of it.
(Michelle is looking very suspicious, she was looking behind Bill and
Pilar and then at something in her hand)
M: Carmen....Why did you say that this was your fault? Why did you say
that you killed your own daughter?
C: I don't understand.
M: you said thats exactly what you said.
C: I killed...
M: Yeah, yeah, that it was your fault some how.
C; It happened here in my own home!
M: okay fine, so
Ben: Michelle Carmen was obviously in a state of shock, what came out of
her mouth was...
M: Why would you think that this was your fault?
End of scene

Ben: It was a normal reaction Michelle, a mother see's her child in pain
and she feels guilty for failing to protect her. It ahh doesnt make
sense but it's understandable.
M: Really
D: Michelle, of course my mother would feel responsible
M: Why, why would she feel responsible in the first place?
D: Not now, not now..not
M: don't you want to find out what happened?
D: I said not now okay?
M: Okay...okay..okay
D: I'm sorry, look if anyone is responsible for this it's me. I should
have seen this coming
M: What are you talking about?
D: Because there's been talk and it's been going on for awhile and
lately it's been getting alot louder. Theres a feeling among our
competitors that our organization has been weakened because of me, that
I've caused a riff.
C: Your being much to hard on yourself Danny
D: No I'm not i know whats going on, i hear whats happening.. Our
competitors were looking for some opportunity to strike and this was
obviously it.
C; Thank you danny
D: For what? For messing everything up?
C: Do you know how important it is to have you hear with us? Thank you.

M: (glaring at carmen) Dont do this danny god please don't do this.
(very softly so that no one else hears her)

End of scene


Carmen and Danny are comforting Pilar on the steps. Micheele comes over
to them.
M: Danny can I please talk to you?
D: Michelle not right now..
C: It's alright Danny, we're fine go...go
P: It's okay go...
D:alright
The two of them walk out together
D: What? Whats up?
M: Do you remember what you said to me? at all?
D: When?
M: Today, before ben called.
D: Michelle my mind is completely fried, what are you talking about?
M: You said that you were going to walk away from this.
D: How can you say that? My mothers house was just riddled with bullets.
M: I know, Iknow
D: My sister was almost killed!
M: I know, it's terrible but
D: Michelle I have to figure out who is responsible for this
M: Don't you think the police should be the ones to figure this out?
D: No Look, I can't . i can't talk to you about this.
He starts to walk away and she grabs his arm, he opens the door and she
shuts it.
M: Okay, okay I won't talk to you about the police, I'm just saying
look, I'm looking at you in there and I'm seeing how you're responding and
it just..
D: I ...okay
M: Okay
D: I know how this probably looks to you, that everything i said to you
earlier isn't true but I meant everything I said I did, I just..I need
to take care of this first.
M: How? How are you going to take care of it?
D: I don't know, I'm going to have to make sure that nothing like this
ever happens again. I have to. And once I've done that then...
M: and then what? what? Are you going to walk away then?.... No
D: No what?!
M: No your not, you can't. This is who you are and I can't...I can't ask
you to be someone who your not Danny.
D: Don't do this, come on..don't give up on us..please (running his
fingers through her hair)
M: Well, I can't do that either...You're in my blood (*sigh*)
D: Michelle, it's not going to be forever, I promise.....I promise

End of scene

Hugging and kissing
D: Okay, we'll talk later alright
M: alright
D: Right now you need to get out of here.
M: What?
D: Michelle you can't be a part of this
M: I'm staying right here
D: No you're not, I'm sorry but you can't
M: Danny I'm worried about you alright, whoever did this might come
after you next.
D: That's why you have to go home, It's not safe for you here.
M: You just want me to sit at home and wait for you to call me after you
finish cleaning this up?
D: Michelle..
M: No, there's no way.
D: Michelle, I will figure out a way for us to have everything we talked
about. I promise
M: The only thing I want right now is you. alright? (Finally!!)
D: You have to do this for me okay? Please.
M: I don't want to be apart from you right now.
D: Do you think I want that? I dont want that either.
M: Fine, so let me stay.
D: No, you can't. You have to go home. Just give me some time and I
promise you we'll...
M: Don't, don't promise anything just...just take care of yourself
please.
D: Okay
Kissing , kissing kissing ahhhhh....


Back to carmen et al..
C:  I owe you a debt I can never repay Bill. (Lucky Bill!)
B: You don't owe me anything Mrs. Santos
C: You saved my daughter I will never forget it.
Bi: Look  the only thing that i did here was..
D: Bill, Bill, will you do me a favor and take Michelle home right now?
Please?
Bi: UmmYeah (turns to Pilar) You okay?
P; Yeah
C: Why aren't you taking her home yourself?
D: No I..I'm going to stay here. Just until things get settled. (turns
to M) Okay?
M: Bill, Can we go?
Bi: Yeah (to P) walk me out?
P: Yeah.
The four of them walk out together and Carmen walks behind her desk to
where Ben is standing, she looks shocked and scared.
C: If anything had ahppened to my daughter..
Ben: It didn't...and..you have your children back and they are as
devoted to you as ever.
C: Thank you Ben..You have no idea how improtant this was for me.
Carmen grabs his face and  Plants a big wet one on him(lol)
Ben is smiling.
C: You are one of us now.
Ben is not smiling anymore....he looks scared (all I can think of is
the movie title "Kiss of the spider woman" LOL)
