The angel of the Lord encamps around
those who fear Him, and deliver them.
Psalms 34: 7
(RSV)
Do not be afraid
-- I am with you!
I am your
God -- let nothing terrify you!
I will make
you strong and help you;
I will protect
you and save you.
Isaiah 41:
10 (Good News)
The following
paragraph is a very special promise that Ellen White wrote to help
you know that God will take care of you.
"During
the night a very impressive scene passed before me. There seemed
to be great confusion and conflict of armies. A messenger from the
Lord stood before me, and said, 'Call your household. I will lead
you, follow me.' He led me down a dark passage, through a forest,
then through the clefts of the mountains, and said, 'Here you are
safe.' There were others who had been led to this retreat. The heavenly
messenger said, 'The time of trouble has come as a thief in the
night, as the Lord warned you it would come.'" Manuscript 153,
1905.
His angel guards
those who have reverence for the Lord and rescues them from danger.
Psalms 34:
7 (Good News)
I will fight
against whoever fights you, and I will rescue your children.
Isaiah 49:
25 (Good News)
When a general
decree fixes the time when commandment keepers may be put to death,
their enemies will in some cases try to kill them early. But no
one can get past the mightly angel guardians stationed about every
faithful person. Some are bothered when they are running out of
the cities. But the "swords raised against them break and fall
powerless as a straw. Others are defended by angels in the form
of men of war." (Great Controversy p. 631)
There is a chapter
of the Bible you need to memorize. It is one that will help you
during the trouble that will come. That chapter is Psalms 46. It
also mentions the bow that will be broken and the spear that will
be shattered. (Psalms 46: 9)
Here is another
promise God gave us. It comes from the pen of Ellen White.
"I saw
the saints leaving the cities and villages and associating together
in companies, living in the most solitary places. Angels provided
them food and water, while the wicked were suffering from hunger
and thirst." EW 282
God gave us
these promises to help us know that He loves us and will take care
of us. Do not be afraid, when there are earthquakes, storms, and
volcanoes. Do not be afraid when there are riots and wars. God promises
to take care of us.
